Psychiatric Medication Management
Individualized Treatment for Your Mental Health
Medication can be an important part of treatment for many mental health conditions, but finding the right medication and dose often requires careful evaluation, ongoing monitoring, and adjustments over time.
Aspire Medical Group provides comprehensive psychiatric medication management for children, adolescents, and adults. Our approach is individualized and considers your symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, previous treatment response, current medications, coexisting conditions, lifestyle factors, and personal treatment goals.
Conditions We Treat
Psychiatric medication management may be provided for individuals experiencing ADHD, anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), insomnia, schizophrenia and other psychiatric conditions within the scope of our practice.
Treatment recommendations are based on a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation and may include medication, psychotherapy recommendations, lifestyle interventions, laboratory testing, pharmacogenomic testing, or referrals to other healthcare professionals when appropriate.
Comprehensive Medication Evaluation
Before recommending medication, your psychiatric provider will review your current symptoms, medical and psychiatric history, previous diagnoses and treatments, current medications and supplements, substance use history, sleep patterns, family psychiatric history, and other factors that may influence treatment safety and effectiveness.
When clinically indicated, laboratory testing, medical records, an electrocardiogram (ECG), urine drug screening, pharmacogenomic testing, consultation with another treating clinician, or medical clearance may be recommended.
Ongoing Monitoring and Follow-Up Care
Psychiatric medication management requires ongoing follow-up and monitoring. Your provider will assess treatment response, medication adherence, potential side effects, changes in symptoms, and overall functioning.
Medications may be initiated, adjusted, changed, or discontinued based on your individual response and clinical needs.
Our goal is to identify the lowest effective medication dose whenever possible while maximizing symptom improvement, minimizing side effects, and improving daily functioning and quality of life.
Pharmacogenomic Testing
For patients who have experienced significant medication side effects, inadequate response to previous psychiatric medications, or difficulty finding an effective treatment, pharmacogenomic (PGx) testing may be considered.
PGx testing examines certain genetic variations that can influence how the body metabolizes or responds to specific medications. Results may provide additional information to help guide medication selection and dosing decisions.
Pharmacogenomic testing does not predict with certainty which medication will be effective and is not routinely recommended for every patient. Results are interpreted alongside your clinical history, previous treatment response, symptoms, and other relevant factors.
Our Approach to Psychiatric Care
At Aspire Medical Group, medication is not prescribed using a one-size-fits-all approach. Treatment plans are individualized, regularly reviewed, and adjusted over time based on your response, preferences, and changing clinical needs.
Our goal is to provide thoughtful, evidence-based psychiatric care that helps patients achieve meaningful improvements in symptoms, functioning, and overall well-being.
